Birth & postpartum doula · Se habla español
I'm Amy Gonzales. I support families through pregnancy, birth and the weeks after, in English or Spanish, and I shape my care around who you are and how you learn best.
Request a consult“Amy picked up the phone when I was one week post partum and felt like I was drowning. We were able to quickly get scheduled to have her come support us with her postpartum doula services. She is a life saver. She exuberates kindness and clearly is there to help you in whatever way she can. It was so fun to watch her build her own relationship with our daughter. If/when baby #2 comes around, she will be one of the first people we call when we see those two pink lines.”
From learning about birth to bringing baby home, I tailor my care to your family, your culture and the way you learn. Support is available in English or Spanish.

Tell me about youBirth & postpartum doula · Tucson, AZ
I became a doula because of my own pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I had very little support and few resources, and that experience lit a fire in me. I came out of it certain that every birthing person deserves far more care than I received. That belief guides the work I do today. I'm one of only a few Spanish-speaking doulas in Tucson, and my Hispanic heritage, roots and culture are at the heart of Nuevas Raíces. I meet each family where they are right now. Then I shape my support around your needs, your personality and the way you learn best. If you'd like to talk, I'd love to hear what you're hoping for.
I'll take the time to know you: your needs, your personality and how you learn. I'll honor your culture and your choices, listen without judgment and show up with the kind of support every birthing person and new parent deserves.

A doula gives non-medical support. I help you learn about your options, prepare for birth and the weeks after, and feel cared for along the way. I don't replace your doctor or midwife. I'm there for the emotional and practical side, and I adjust everything to fit your needs, in English or Spanish.
I meet each family where they are, and that includes the people supporting you. If you have a partner or loved one you want involved, let's talk about the role you'd like them to play and how I can fit alongside them.
Every labor and every family is different, so this is something we'll plan together. Let's talk about what you're hoping for and how we'll stay in touch as things begin.
I offer postpartum support and overnight newborn care, so I can help in the weeks after your baby arrives. The timing depends on your family and what you need. Reach out and we can work out a plan that fits.
Tell me a little about your due date or your new baby, and what kind of help you're looking for. We can talk in English or Spanish.
